Well, the latest news on my art projects is as follows:

My art cards have been well-received, so I'm continuing to create in an art card format (2.5" x 3.5" original work on bristol paper packaged in a protective plastic sleeve). I am also preparing for the following:

I am finishing up pieces for my October exhibit "Halloweiner: Dogs in Halloween Costumes", and it has taken on a life of its own, so to speak. What started as an idea of quirky, pop art cartoonish work has ended up as more of a sketchbook of studies in pencil and charcoal. Here are some photos of the work:

I'll be expanding my art out to a couple of new galleries, and working on some new series. I am planning on working with small 4X4" or 5X5" blocks of my second most favorite media (behind masonite): MDF board. I'm also working on some nifty bookends, bulletin boards, and such, as well as my stuffed dog toys, so I'm super busy preparing all the new work, in addition to working on commissions, as well. No real time to update the website, I'm afraid, but it's on the list for this winter. Promise!

Just a quick note to anyone who gets Domino magazine---the current issue has a rocking feature on pet portraits. No, I'm not one of the artists mentioned, but my friend Leigh Jackson is, so if you get a chance, check it out! Pet portraits are becoming more and more popular, and I've seen more magazines featuring them. Yay!

And again, a big thanks to everyone who has supported my art--- thanks so much for sharing the photos of your wonderful beloved animals. I remember every dog or cat (or turtle or parrot!)I paint for you---each one touches my heart. Thank you for sharing them with me, and trusting me to paint them for you.
